Africa |

Africa
is a land of many countries, many cultures, has seen much bloodshed and is
imbued with an ancient cunning.
It is a continent which has seen the rise
and fall of empires and despots.
It is the land of my birth. I am half
wild and half 'civilized' I believe I shall remain this way until the day
I die.

The
spirit of Africa is warm, fatalistic and dangerous. There is very little
conscience for 'wrong' or 'right' in this left over garden of the
world. It is more of an instinctive place
The western world's fascination with this
dark and mysterious continent is as old as the spirit of adventure.
It is a place that should be for women
but is not.

I once went to Israel. I
walked the streets of old Jerusalem, bobbed (with burning privates), the
salty Dead Sea, sat on an ancient wall of three feet thick in Jericho and
saw an Arab defecate in the middle of the street. |

|
Some
people wailed at the wall and others lined up for felafel even
though there was a 'bomb scare'. I lined up, too and have loved middle
eastern food since that time. I learned to bargain in Tel Aviv, Israel. |

Israel
is not a land you like. You love it or you hate it. Sometimes both. |
