an unorthodox journey

                        July, 2000

Hallucination or Illumination?

I slept a little this afternoon and woke quickly.

I felt your kiss on my forehead.

        You whispered,

            "I love you, Jackie".

It was so real.

I walked the world with curious eye, seeking secrets in the shadows, a smile amidst the tears, finding gold in the palaces of the treetops. And on my journey of many places there were traces of a Persian fragrance,  whisperings on the wind, a faraway call - until I found the key.

Cataclysmic is the only word to describe the loss of you.

Logic tells me that I didn't suit you. My reason understands this. My heart disagrees.

I love you so much that the very idea that I was not the match for you means I have to let you go.

Keep on your journey, Friend. Dreams change. Find joy in something.
